Nice to meet you　！

The moon above the matsu (japanese pine tree), that's the name I recieved from my japanese teacher (sensei) to certify me as a teacher / member of Myoan shakuhachi organization. Thanks to him I could learn Suizen, blowing shakuhachi in the buddhist Zen tradition.

In order to expand this 400 years tradition to the West, I opened a Shakuhachi dojo in Yasu (Shiga, Japan) in a beautiful traditional "Samurai"house as you see below. I wish to expand it to motivated people willing to learn more about traditional Japanese music and Zen.

By the way it's been 13 years I live in Japan, and my real name is Sebastien Mouton :)

The first time I heard the sound of Shakuhachi, was in 2009 in a small tea ceremony room in the heart of Gion (Kyoto), the Geisha district. I was astonished by the atmosphere, the power of the Shakuhachi's sound in such beautiful traditional house. I felt like my spirit was blown away. It was such a mysterious experience. I deeply felt in love with this instrument straight away . I started learning 3 years later in 2013 with a Japanese master of Myoan shakuhachi in Kyoto. After 5 years practicing hard, I was authorized "to teach" or I would say to pass this authentic beautiful tradition to anyone motivated to learn it.

More than that, my teacher pushed me to expand it overseas because this tradition is fading away in Japan.

The learning of suizen or zen shakuhachi is an endless road, like my sensei used to say. Keep as simple as possible and practice with all your heart... . Is that not what we all are experiencing in our life? The practice of Suizen is like the wholeness of the life.
